Trout fishing in Dumfries and Galloway on Mossroddich loch situated on the outskirts of St John’s Town of Dalry, 16 miles north of Castle Douglas. Mossroddich (Moss Roddock) is a 5 acre trout loch situated on the outskirts of St John’s Town of Dalry, 16 miles north of Castle Douglas, south west Scotland. Stocked regularly with both rainbow and brown trout, the loch has stunning views over the local countryside. Mossroddich is stocked with fish between 2lb and 5lb with the occasional heavier fish weighing up to 20lb for good measure.
There are two boats available, however, many fishermen enjoy fishing from the hard bottom shallows but waders are advisable. Mossroddich is strictly fly fishing only with a three fish per person limit (CAR thereafter) and Sunday fishing is available, as are evening tickets.
We welcome novices and young enthusiasts and are happy to encourage them to fish.
Introductions to fly / trout fishing and lessons are available for the less experienced.
We would be delighted to discuss your individual requirements. With over 25 years experience in organising sporting breaks for men and women from the UK or overseas, you will be in expert hands.
